About this event
All the Flowers is a multi-faceted project created to raise awareness for domestic violence through art, education and wellness. Singer/songwriter and community organizer, Velvet Penny, has created an album, single, music video, zine and art show to fuel this mission.

“Through a gloomy world of giant wilting flowers Velvet Penny crawls up a giant staircase through a light-filled door where she enters onto a cliff and continues to blissfully walk to her death in the golden hour; surrounded by personifications of mixed emotions and lost innocence. As she makes her final wish the viewer then follows Velvet Penny into 'a world of her own' where dancing flowers surround her in a void of darkness.”
Alongside the music video are interactive props and cosutmes made by Penny and brilliant collaborators that helped to make the music video what it is.
Zines
Mid 2022, Penny put out a call for art in order to engage folks in the community to find healing through sharing their art and experiences. The Zine features, narratives, poems, photography, and the ’All the Flowers’ Single Flexi-disc. Each submission in this compilation sheds light on the different faces of domestic abuse alongside resources to help prevent and heal.
During this art opening, zines will be available to read and listen to.

Come and enjoy the debut of the full Velvet Penny Band. Performing the unreleased album, ‘All the Flowers.’
Programming
Selected saturdays throughout the duration of this exhibit (11/19 - 2/11) —education, art and wellness workshops are available to equip folks with the tools to express themselves, engage in self care and find a deeper understandins of what domestic violence is.
