The central viewing point and catalyst for the ‘All the Flowers’ Art Show is Velvet Penny’s music video for the self-titled track off of her debut album. Through the video the viewer enters a gloomy world of giant wilting flowers while following Velvet Penny up a giant staircase and through a light-filled door where she enters onto a cliff. On the cliff Velvet Penny is accompanied by a mixture of personified emotions and continues to blissfully walk to her death in the golden hour while lost innocence attempts to deter her. As she makes her final wish, the video transitions into Velvet Penny’s “world of her own” where dancing flowers surround her in a void of darkness.

  • Exquisite Corpse is a collaborative drawing game that can be played with any number of players. Players take turns drawing a section of a picture, without seeing the previous section. Players can only see the previous players's contribution, so they must be creative and collaborative in order to create a cohesive work of art. The picture can be any type of image, but is typically a human figure, hence the name. No one knows what the final product will look like until it's finished. It's always interesting to see how the different pieces come together and in the end you have a unique piece of art to hang on your wall.

Exquisite Corpse is a great way to:

    • explore different art styles and to experiment with new ideas.

    • spend time bonding and connecting with friends or family.

    • To be creative

    • Practice problem solving, patience, improved teamwork skills, and confidence.

Hosted by Charlie Quintero (she/her) (sick sad girls)

  • To build a spiritual base. It is not to build at all, but to allow the destruction of all you’ve built against the love that is the answer, that is the connection, that is the meaning, that is the purpose, and that is the God you are seeking. In this 90 min class, we’ll learn how to make that prayer, how to open to the destruction of what is not real, and surrender to what is. Full Description.

    Hosted by Mamaseko (they/them)

    • have new tools to understand what different kinds of yes and no feels like.

    • practice saying no and reframing no as a gift to be grateful for.

    • become equipped with elf-care ideas for before, during and after stressful activities.

    Hosted by Rebekah Rose (She/They):

I am a queer illustrator/muralist, somatic consent educator, and yoga/mindfulness teacher. I specialize in group facilitation as well as private instruction. I have 8 years experience as a trauma-informed yoga teacher and have been teaching art classes on and off since 2016. I use a combination of trauma-informed approaches to art and movement to help people build up a sense of safety and trust in their bodies and their expressions (be that an artistic expression or otherwise). Through group discussion, lecture style learning, and guided practice I help people identify and strengthen their boundaries both as they relate to themselves and to others. And help people uncover the joy and magic of finding consent in everyday moments. It is important to destigmatize consent, and question our understanding of it. I believe that having an ongoing practice of consent transforms lives and helps people, especially survivors of trauma and those most impacted by systemic oppression, to feel more empowered to be their full authentics selves.

  • 5pm - 7pm Self Defense Workshop hosted by Project Sister
